The Daejeon Metro opened on 16 March 2006, becoming the first rapid transit system in the city. The network was built to provide efficient public transportation and reduce traffic congestion across Daejeon. Today, it connects major residential areas, universities, business districts and railway stations, serving thousands of passengers every day.
